pen and inkThe Constitution of Mensa is the governing document for Mensa worldwide. American Mensa, in turn, has a set of Bylaws defining the structure and governance of the organization.

Within the requirements of the Constitution and our Bylaws, the AMC takes various actions, which are compiled into a list known as Actions Still in Effect. The list of ASIEs is maintained to keep it current after each AMC meeting by adding newly adopted actions and removing ASIEs that have been superseded or rendered obsolete.

Additionally, your Local Group has a set of bylaws, approved by the national organization, under which it must operate.  These local bylaws are crafted based on the Minimum Standard Bylaws defined within the ASIEs.  To assist groups in developing a set of bylaws, American Mensa provides a checklistrequirements and a set of model bylaws.
