DNS Services for Groups
American Mensa offers DNS services to Local Groups and Special Interest Groups, based on the following criteria:
1. The hosted group must be a recognized, active Local Group or Special Interest Group of American Mensa.
2. A Web Contact or SIG Coordinator must be listed with American Mensa's National Office to serve as the official contact for Web activity on behalf of the group. The Web Contact may or may not be the Webmaster for the site, but he or she must be a currently active member of American Mensa and approved by the group's LocSec or the AMC SIGs Officer. The National Office will verify the membership and approval of the Web Contact or SIG Coordinator prior to activating DNS service. If there is a vacancy in the office of Web Contact or SIG Coordinator, the Local Group or the AMC SIGs Officer will be notified so that another member can be approved.
3. Requests for Web services must be made by the Web Contact, Local Secretary or the national SIG Coordinator.
4. American Mensa will provide a Web address (URL) in the form group.us.mensa.org that will point to the group's Web hosting site, where group is the official name or accepted nickname for that group.
5. The group must supply the appropriate IP address to the hosting site and must notify the National Office when hosting changes are made.
6. The IP address provided must be for the group's Web site. No DNS services will be linked directly to personal pages.
7. The group's site must conform to all Internet Service policies put forth by American Mensa and International Mensa, including the proper use of the Mensa logo and Mensa trade name.
8. Abuse of American Mensa's Web services may result in a discontinuation of services. Reports of abuse should be made to onlineabuse@americanmensa.org.
